Who we are
UK Databases is a trading name of GetYa Marketing Management FZCO (DSO-FZCO-39103), IFZA Business Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, UAE. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at compliance@ukdatabases.com. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC263749.
Part 1 — our customers
When you order, we collect your name, company, email address and phone number, the filters you chose and your order history. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. We use this information to deliver your order, run your login, prevent fraud, keep accounting records and, now and then, tell you about similar data products (you can opt out at any time). The lawful bases are performance of our contract with you, our legal obligations and our legitimate interests. We keep order records for 6 years for accounting purposes.
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and to remember your list while you build it. If you use our website chat, your name, email (and phone, if you give it) and messages are stored so our team can follow up. Replies are written by an AI assistant working for our team (using Anthropic's API, which processes the messages on our behalf); if you ask for a person, the chat is passed to a member of the team through our live-chat provider (tawk.to).
Part 2 — the businesses in our database
Our database is about UK businesses. Most of it is not personal data, but some is — for example a director's name, a named work email, or details of sole traders and partnerships.
- Sources: public registers (including Companies House), businesses' own websites and online listings, and data partners who collected it lawfully and told people it may be shared.
- What we hold: business name and number, business activity, address, website, business telephone and email, size and turnover bands, incorporation date and, where available, the names of directors and owners (decision makers). We supply a decision maker's own mobile number only where that person opted in to receive marketing, together with the record of their consent (date and time, the website they opted in on, IP address and the channels they agreed to).
- Why: to license business contact data to other organisations for business-to-business marketing. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — helping businesses find and contact suppliers and customers — balanced against the limited, work-related nature of the data and the easy ways to object.
- Who receives it: organisations who buy a licence from us, under terms that require lawful use (see our terms), and our hosting and technical providers.
- Safeguards: telephone numbers are screened against the Corporate TPS before delivery, records are refreshed regularly, and anyone who asks to be removed is suppressed from all future files.
- How long: while the business is active and the data is accurate; records we learn are out of date are switched off.
Remove a business, or object
To have a business or a person removed from our database, or to object to us using your details, email compliance@ukdatabases.com with the business name, postcode (or company number) and the phone number or email you want removed. We'll suppress it from all future files, normally within 2 working days.
Using UK Databases from Claude
If you connect your account to Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant), you sign in with your UK Databases login and choose what to allow. We then receive only what each request needs — the searches and orders you ask Claude to make — and return counts, prices, masked samples, your orders and, once paid, your files. We don't collect your conversations with Claude or anything else from your Claude account. Access uses sign-in tokens that we store only as one-way hashes; they expire automatically and you can disconnect at any time from Account in your login. What Claude does with information in your conversation is covered by Anthropic's own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We'll respond within one month.
International transfers
Our business is based in the UAE and our data is hosted with reputable providers. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
